This is a pair of large original architectural sketches of classical forms by famed Belgian architect Marcel Lambrichs. The drawings are in pencil, pen, and ink wash, and framed. One piece is titled “Ordre Dorique” and signed Lambrichs. The other is titled “Ordre Toscan” and appears to be unsigned.

Dimensions framed: 37.5” x 28.25”

Condition: Vintage condition shows some wear to drawings and frames, including possible foxing and soiling on the paper. Frames have some losses.

About Marcel Lambrichs (1917-1986): Lambrichs studied at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Brussels before his education was interrupted by WWII. In WWII, Lambrichs became a prisoner of war before escaping from a prison camp in Silesia. He later finished his studies at the Royal Academy and launched his career as Europe began to rebuild. He spent much of his early career in the Congo, and specialized in banks and administrative buildings, where he fine-tuned his architectural perspective. Later, he went on to win many awards and accolades for his work.
