When our friend Kate Wood invited us to set her table and sprinkle flowers around the house ahead of an exciting shoot, we lept at the opportunity. We are still building our home, and don't have many opportunities these days to let our wildest luncheon table dreams come to life.

Our inspiration, though, was super close to home. Our son has been absolutely taken by the daffodils in bloom around Eden Hill, and picks a few each day to refresh the arrangements he has creative directed in his bedroom and on our breakfast table. So, we knew we would use daffodils. Layering onto those sunny blooms, we decided to keep the rest close to home. Forsythia, pussy willow, and magnolia branches would join moss cleaned off of our stone walkway and vines foraged from the yet-to-be-lit burn pile.

The Classic Vases would provide a spine down the center of the table, and our Palatine Collection in Smoke would ground the table and welcome guests in. A Toad House by local potter Lara Gillett would provide whimsy, along with bug pins by our neighbor, John Kirslis.
The table was complimented by a pair of vases, one in the entry and one upstairs, that suggested towards the table. Birds nests foraged from inhospitable to wildlife areas of our property tied the three together.

Doing this installation for Kate was a remarkable and meaningful confirmation of what we love in our home, on our property, and among friends. Thank you, Kate, for giving us the opportunity. Look out for more on this project later in the spring!
