The first lintel was placed today, the block that spans two walls, securing the opening – in this case, our future front door. It was an emotional moment, watching the concretizing of a portal into the world we are building. Few things, it seems, these days at least, are solid. But walls are, and a lintel, and the care going into them, and the world to be built beyond.
